Anemone nemorosa

Anemone nemorosa (valkovuokko) is an early-spring flowering plant which is very strongly connected to Mother’s Day (äitienpäivä) in Finland. Children often go to the forest to pick flowers to their Mother and give them with handmade greeting cards early in the morning when mothers often get their breakfast served in the bed.  Another lovely early spring flower is Hepatica nobilis (sinivuokko), which has been protected.
